The WHO Staff Welfare Association (SWA) is a WHO constitutional Organstablished under WHO staff regulations and rules section 910.

The rights of association: Staff members, at any duty station have the right to associate in a formal organization for the purpose of developing staff activities and making proposals and representations to the organization concerning personnel policy and conditions of service.

Benefits of full paid up members of SWA

A fully paid up member of SWA has opportunity to access the below benefits:

  • Active participation in the SWA committee for staff constituencies (Drivers, NPOs, IPOs, CSUs).

How to become an active SWA member

SWA is a membership body through registration. To register, a member will be required to pay a SWA contribution by Mpesato SWA KCB account through the following mechanisms:

  • Paybill number 522522
  • Account number 1105027635
  • Amount (KES)
    • General staff - KSH 500 per month (Ksh 6,000 per year)
    • National Professional Officers (NPO) - KSH 1,000 per month (Ksh 12,000 per year)
    • International Professional Officers (IPO) - KSH 2,000 per month (Ksh 24,000 per year)
  • Active participation in the SWA committee for staff constituencies (Drivers, NPOs, IPOs, CSUs).
  • Voting rights during AGM and SAGM.
  • Eligible for elective positions in the SWA committee and constituency representative.
